Halloween wrap-up
Our Halloween was perfect. But it wasn’t without worry. At first our main concern was Kayla’s health. She came home from school Wednesday with a fever which lasted about 24 hours. As a precaution, we kept her out of school Friday to get her healthy for the big night. Halloween morning came and the kids were seemingly healthy, but now mom was not feeling too good. Actually Laura had been fighting something all week and it seemed to turn worse. She rested a lot Saturday but it was starting to look like she wouldn’t be able to join us for the evenings festivities. But as the time to go got closer, she began to feel better and decided to go for it.
We met 3 other families at Village Pizza and the pizza and beer proved to be good medicine for Laura. She was actually amazed at how much better she felt after she ate. We went to the same Rio Rancho neighborhood that we’ve been invading for the past three years and scored a huge bounty. In fact, the kids were asking when we could go home.
Today when we woke, Kayla had a slight fever again. Unfortunately, she had to miss her friend Amelia’s birthday party (Cade went). Fearing the worst, Laura took her to urgent care where they said she is fine. We’re hoping this week is a healthy and relaxing one.
